COLOMBO, JUNE 12: Sri Lanka’s former cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga has been included in the forthcoming Test match against Pakistan, which will make him the world’s first cricketer to play in a country’s first and the 100th Test.

Ranatunga, 36, was recalled to the team for Wednesday’s Test against Pakistan after being sidelined for several matches following the country’s World Cup humiliation last year.

Sri Lanka’s newly elected president of the Board of Control for Cricket, Thilanga Sumathipala, said they were arranging low-key celebrations to mark the 100th Test match.

The Sri Lankan squad: Sanath Jayasuriya (captain), Marvan Atapattu (vice captain), Arjuna Ranatunga, Aravinda de Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Mahela Jayewardene, Russel Arnold, Upul Chandana, Nuwan Soysa, Abvishka Gunewardena, Rangana Herath, Prasanna Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakkara and Dilhara Fernando.
