It’s been a model year for Bollywood. Not only have box office collections gone through the roof, but the variety of stories and quality of filmmaking has stunned both critics and the movie goer. As the year draws to a close, the industry awaits the final verdict from the jury of the Hero Honda 13th annual Star Screen Awards.

The Hero Honda 13th annual Star Screen Awards will be held on January 6 in Mumbai.

If nominations are anything to go by, Rang De Basanti leads the pack with 19 for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Music among others. The category lists boast of an enviable roster of stars. Bipasha Basu, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor and Kajol, all in the running for Best Female Actor. As for heroes, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan are in contention with Hrithik Roshan in a double role for both Krrish and Dhoom 2..

This year, the Negative Role category is as heavily loaded as the Best Actor segment. Aamir Khan is the only actor to be nominated both in the Best Actor and Best Actor in a Negative Role. Turning it into a Khan special, Shah Rukh and Saif Ali are both in the running as best baddies too.

Perhaps the most off-beat list is that for Best Actor in a Supporting Role with nominees like Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah and Seema Biswas.

For the judges, picking winners is bound to be a difficult task, but you can join in, by voting for your Jodi No 1 — Aamir-Kajol, Hrithik-Aishwarya, Salman-Rani, Sanjay-Vidya, Shah Rukh-Rani or Shahid-Amrita. This is the only category that is driven by an audience poll.
