The 16-year-old cancer patient who had claimed that two ward boys had raped her in November last year at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, while she was under the effect of anaesthesia, delivered a premature stillborn at Queen Mary Hospital in Lucknow on Sunday. Doctors said the still-born was only seven months’ old and has been handed over to the Mumbai police for DNA tests. Sources informed that the condition of the girl is critical, as the cancer seems to have spread to her lungs. The girl had undergone surgery for a malignant tumour at Tata Memorial Hospital in November 2006. She claimed that two unidentified ward boys, who had passed lewd comments at her, had raped her. The police had even registered a case. She came to Lucknow a month ago and was being treated by a private ayurvedic doctor. Her condition became critical two days ago and she was referred to Queen Mary Hospital of King George’s Medical College, where she delivered on Sunday.
