The Yerwada jail authorities on Thursday released 40 accused from the remaining 59 serving a judicial custody in the all-night party case. Prison Superintendent Rajendra Dhamane said, “We have released 40 and the remaining 19 will be released on Friday”. For the the jail staff, there will be cause for relief on Friday after the last batch of those arrested at the Donje party are finally released. “The presence of the youngsters was attracting a lot of media attention to the jail premises,” said Rajendra Dhamane. Meanwhile, the Pune rural police said the reports of the medical tests of all those taken into judicial custody and released later might take another month. The police had arrested 287 revellers including 29 women and eight foreign nationals, on charges of consumption of narcotics from Donje village at the foothills of the historic Sinhagad fort around 2.30 am on Sunday.
