Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi’s party,the Trinamool Congress,has undermined its own leader’s efforts to generate more revenue for his ailing department. His move to increase fares marginally has been hailed positive by India Inc. Many are ready to pay to enjoy a safer journey. This is a huge embarrassment for Minister Trivedi! What is the Trinamool trying to achieve by this double-speak? Is it not hurting its own credibility as a prominent UPA ally?
