Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thakre today wondered why Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray was unhappy over the Rajya Sabha nomination to cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar.
“According to his (Bal Thackeray’s) nature,he keeps on giving such reactions. I wonder why they are not happy when people across the country are happy,” Thakre said while talking to reporters after paying floral tribute at Hutatma Chowk,on the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
Urging the Sena patriarch not to indulge in political statements,he said Congress honoured the master blaster by nominating him to the Rajya Sabha.
The Sena chief,while reacting to Tendulkar’s nomination to Rajya Sabha,had said on Sunday that it was the ‘dirtiest play’ of Congress.
“It is Congress’s dirtiest play… The real ‘Dirty Picture’ is this,” Thackeray had said.
