Reliance Industries was voted 32nd in FT-PricewaterhouseCoopers’s list of companies creating most value for shareholders, while its CMD Mukesh Ambani was ranked 40th in the list of world’s most respected business leaders. The only other Indian to figure in the Financial Times-PwC’s sixth global survey in the categories of most respected business leaders is Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani who ranked 35th in the list. Tata Steel was 34th amongst companies demonstrating their commitment to corporate social responsibility, according to PwC release here. GE has retained the number one slot for the sixth year running, while Microsoft and Toyota both taking the second and third place in the world’s most respected companies ranking. IBM came in the fourth slot. Wal-Mart come in the fifth position followed by Coca-Cola, then Dell and Berkshire Hathwaway. Daimlerchrysler and Sony came ninth and tenth respectively in the list of 10 globally respected companies.
