Reliance Infocomm today announced the commercial launch of its services from May 1, instead of its earlier scheduled date of April 1.
The revision in the date of services launch is due to delays in implementing interconnect agreements with other service providers, Reliance Infocomm stated in a statement issued on Friday. Also the interconnect agreements were signed with other service providers and are expected to be implemented within a few weeks’ time.
With these agreements now in place the Reliance IndiaMobile services would be fully functional across India from May 2003 which will include full interconnectivity with all service providers and two-way SMS operability.
Reliance IndiaMobile customers will be able to make and receive calls from any landline, GSM or CDMA mobile phone from any network in any part of the world.
Customers who have been given the benefit of free on-net till March 31, 2003, will enjoy the facility till April 30, 2003. However, they would have to pay off-net charges payable to other operators.
