CHANDIGARH, Jan 27: The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee has ordered the closure of Rama Rice Mill at Pipliwala town near Manimajra township for failing to adhere to the pollution control norms aid down in the Union Territory.
The water and electricity connection of the mill has also been disconnected as a follow-up action, taken under Section 31-A of Air Prevention and Control of Pollution Act, 1951.

According to committee’s senior official, the mill, which failed to comply with the provision of pollution Act, had been running over the year without seeking prior permission and clearance of the committee.
