Road staff for withdrawal of notification

CHANDIGARH, Oct 27: A rally demanding the withdrawal of equal pay for equal work to daily wagers was organised by the Action Committee of UT Employees and Workers, here today.

A statement issued by committee convenor said that workers of the Roads Wing of lake section, Sector 47 and Sector 47 tile factory, workers of Sector 26 mechanical workshop and Sector 16 General Hospital Class IV Employees Union took part in the rally. They were demanding withdrawal of a notification regarding service rules issued in 1992, equal pay for equal work to daily wagers and bonus on the central pattern.

UT staff rally
The Joint Action Committee of Punjab and UT Employees held a rally today. They were demanding bonus for 1997-98, six per cent dearness allowance since July 1998 and regularisation of the services of daily wagers, ad hoc and part-time employees.
