CHENNAI, July 12: A five-member gang attempted in vain to rob from a house at Virugambakkam, here, and escaped after attacking two persons who attempted to catch them. They struck later at Valasaravakkam where they entered a house of railway employee and decamped with 15 sovereigns of jewellery.
