CHANDIGARH, Sept 30: The final natinal coaching camp in preparations for India’s participation in the Asian Roller Skating Championship to be held in Shanghai (China) from October 16 to 23 began at the newly constructed modern skating rink at Kailash Bahl DAV Centenary Public School in Sector 7 here today.
Four coaches — Harpreet Singh Kirti, Harpreet Singh, Balwinder Singh Johl and Sarbajeet Singh — are attached with the camp.
Inder Pal Singh, Adviser to the president of Roller Skating Federation of India said the artistic and speed skating camps simultaneously began at Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and Faridabad (Haryana), respectively.
He disclosed that respective state associations would foot the bills of their respective players to travel to China as the Indian Government has cleared the team at no cost to the government.’

Women: Radhika Mehta, Sapna Jain, Armeet Kaur (goalkeeper), Amrita Singh (Chandigarh), Meenakshi Kohli, Indu, Priyanka, Heena (GK), Shreya and Sonia Yadav (all Haryana). Standbyes: Shweta Uthappa (Karnataka), Rishu (Haryana).
Men: Arvind Chaudhary, Abhishek Ratanpal, Parminder Kamboj (Chandiarh), Paramvir Singh Bhatia, Harinder Singh, Rajesh Anand (GK) (Jammu and Kashmir), Atul Sharma (Delhi) Gurpreet Singh (GK), Gautam Kamboj, Munish Kumar (Punjab). Standbyes: Navdeep Singh, Swaranjit Singh (Punjab), Mohd Hafiz (UP), Saurabh Kakkar, Bhupinder Johal and Vishal Bakshi (Chandigarh).

The Chandigarh Inter-School kho-kho meet under the aegis of the Chandigarh Sports Department will commence tomorrow at 4 p.m., at the Sector 42 Sports Complex.
