
Peeved at the Congress criticism of its ‘‘communal agenda,’’ the RSS here today hit back at the principal Opposition party, calling it irresponsible and power-hungry, its leadership, ‘‘a mixture of unabashed sycophants’’ and ‘‘spineless underdogs,’’ and its approach, ‘‘minority-centric.’’
In a statement here today, RSS spokesman Ram Madhav dubbed the Congress stand on the fight against terror ‘‘shockingly presumptuous’’ and pointed out that even while the entire country was rallying behind the Government in seeking a ‘‘lasting and effective solution to the vexed problem of cross-border terrorism,’’ the Congress, by playing with words, was ‘‘jeopardising the security and honour’’ of the country.
