RSS office attacked

A country-made bomb was hurled at the RSS office on Thursday night in Tenkasi, 50 km from here, by unidentified persons. As everyone in the office had left, nobody was injured in the incident, the police said, adding that investigations are on. Tirunelveli DIG of Police S Kannappan and Superintendent of Police Sreedhar also rushed to the spot.

Bird flu alert in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The Wildlife Department has issued a bird flu alert in Kerala, a major consumer of poultry products from other states, in the wake of spread of the disease in West Bengal.In a statement here, Chief Wildlife Warden V S Varghese asked people to promptly report to the Wildlife or Animal Husbandry Department in case of any unusual bird death.
