Sachin Tendulkar is doubtful for the ICC Champions Trophy, Indian captain Saurav Ganguly said after his side’s 70-run defeat by England in the second one-day international on Friday.Tendulkar missed the recent triangular series in the Netherlands with tennis elbow and has not yet played in the three-match series against England with one game to go.‘‘He is seriously doubtful’’, Ganguly told reporters. The 12-team tournament starts on September 10 with India’s first match on September 11 against Kenya in Southampton. India also play arch-rivals Pakistan on September 19 at Edgbaston, the last match before the semi-finals. They conceded the NatWest Challenge series to England today with a crushing defeat at The Oval. ‘‘Things are not going our way at present and we have got to hang in there,’’ Ganguly said. ‘‘We pulled it back in the middle. Harbhajan was outstanding but we gave too many runs away.’’ England named an unchanged side after a convincing seven-wicket victory in the first match at Trent Bridge with India making two changes, seamer Agarkar replacing spinner Anil Kumble and Harbhajan coming in for Ashish Nehra. The leading role was played by England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, in the middle of a purple patch with bat and ball. ‘‘ always seem to score runs here’’, Flintoff, man of the match for his 99, said. ‘‘I enjoy it. The ball comes on to the bat.’’ SCOREBOARD
