CHANDIGARH, Jan 28: Trials to select sportswomen in the age group of 14 to 19 for admission to Sports Authority of India (SAI), Training Centre, Sector 18 will be held from February 4 to 6.

Trials will be held in four discipline — athletics, basketball, hockey and volleyball. Players from Punjab, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, who have excelled at national and state level meets are eligible for the trials.

Girls above five feet six inches, would be given preference for volleyball and basketball.

Interested players should reports at SAI Training Centre, Sector 18, on February 4, alongwith two passport size photographs and original date of birth certificate. The selected players will be provided free boarding and lodgding, sports kit.

Events rescheduled Due to inclement weather, the events scheduled to be held today in the ongoing Chandigarh State boys athletic meet at Sector 7 Sports Complex, could not be held.

The slogging track condition due to overnight rain and constant drizzle in the morning, forced the organiser to rescheduled the events.
