How’s your running in the film Run?It’s about rebellious love. But unlike my first film Tere Naam, I don’t play a timid and shy girl. Here, I play a college girl from Delhi whose sensibilities are very city-specific. At some point, the character defies her strict brother, played by Mahesh Manjrekar. In real life, would you go against your family for love? No, I don’t think so. First, if I fall in love, my parents will also like the person; if they don’t, then there has to be something missing in him. So you are a good girl?Well, I try to be one. Your wardrobe in Run is much more interesting than the one in Tere Naam.People have told me that they like my western look in Run. That’s very heartening because I don’t want to be slotted. In fact, I am trying hard to get out of the Tere Naam image. Wearing only salwar kurtas in the film, I was definitely at a disadvantage. After all, heroines in their first film usually do it all—they leave nothing to the imagination. Tell us what happened at the Taj Mahal when Abhishek Bachchan confessed his love for you?(Chuckles) Oh god, it was so funny. See, I get embarrassed when I have to shoot all those lovey-dovey scenes. We were shooting at the Taj Mahal where Abhishek had to say ‘I love you’. I don’t know what happened, but suddenly I felt very shy and had to ask for retakes. It was very funny and Abhishek teased me mercilessly. But soon it was your turn to tease him. There was this scene which we have now edited from the film, where Abhishek lifts me and twirls me around. I don’t know what happened to him but he forgot his dialogues each time. It took seven takes and, finally, I had to murmur the dialogues into his ear. That was my day. We hear Salman Khan is recommending you?If he is then it’s good for me. I think he must have recommended me for Dil Ne Jisse Apna Kaha. I am extremely fond of him. He’s a darling and a gem. Thankfully, he hasn’t played any pranks on me yet. You call him Salman bhai. Not any more. He has issued strict instructions that I have to stop calling him bhai in public. He jokes that he will be running behind me on screen and the audience will think this is some bhai-behan ki jodi.
