Salman tapes not with us, say police chief

The investigation into the Salman Khan tapes, in which the actor is heard boasting of his underworld links, may face a hurdle. The Mumbai police commissioner on Thursday said the police did not have the record of the tappings of Salman’s cell. “The record of conversations taped during surveillance is not maintained for four years. As per the Supreme Court directions, such tapes are regularly destroyed,” A N Roy said. “We tapped the phone for two months but at the end did not find anything suspicious.” —PTI
