Sangram Singh took on Saurav Ganguly in a Challenger Trophy match couple of years ago. Then he just disappeared from sight. Now he has made a confident start to the Plate division and continued to plunder runs. His unbeaten 99 today against gave Orissa a rare spot in the headlines

SLEEPING GIANT STIRS

Wasim Jaffer is a sleeping giant. Very lazy and elegant with the bat, he desperately needs a string of big scores to make a statement. The few he’s made have been too scattered but today (139 n.o.) was possibly the strongest of them all. The Bengal attack will agree wholeheartedly with that.
