Sarhad Paar

Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Tabu, Mahima Choudhary, Chandrachur Singh, Rahul Dev

Director: Raman Kumar

Another war movie, but in the older mould, wherein Sanjay Dutt plays a tortured prisoner returning from Sarhad Paar, Tabu as his wife who has kept the faith, Mahima as the chulbuli sister who is waiting for her veerji to come home so that she can get married to fiancé Chandrachur Singh.

Raman Kumar has good intentions and a real Punjab village, not some knocked-up designer set. He also has competent actors. But there’s no real strength in the movie, which end up being fusty and comic-bookish with our hero re-gaining his memory and vanquishing the terrorist, the curly-maned Rahul Dev who is evil enough to kill his father, an Indian sympathiser.
