Satyam Computer Services Ltd has achieved a revenue of Rs 848.10 crore for software services for the second quarter ending September 30, 2004, registering 42 per cent growth over Rs 598.49 crore earned during the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. During the same time frame, operating profit has gone up from Rs 166.57 crore to Rs 220.80 crore registering 32.56 per cent increase.
Announcing this from Santa Clara, US on Wednesday at a video conference, B. Ramalinga Raju, chairman, Satyam Computer Services said, ‘‘the revenue was significantly higher than the guidance of Rs 810 crore. The revenue guidance for the current year is revised upwards and is expected to be in the range of Rs 3,415 crore to Rs 3,428 crore’’.
Similarly, the company has also revised its guidance for its headcount upwards from earlier 4,000 to 4,500-5,000.
