
April 1: Leading internet and E-commerce company, Chennai-based Satyam Infoway Limited, is to extend its operations to another 30 cities in the country to provide internet services.
The company had already launched internet services in 38 towns, the last one being inaugurated here yesterday. It proposed to bring another 30 cities, including Siliguri and Aurangabad, under its fold, D Ravichandran, head of the company’s marketing division, told PTI.
The customer base for Satyam Online was over 1.4 lakh now including around 10,000 in Chennai and 20,000 in Delhi. The company hoped to double its base in another one year’s time.
The company was working on getting its own gateway which at present was being provided by the VSNL, he said.
Satyam’s total market share among the total internet users in the country was 27 per cent, he said. As on date, the company had about 350 large corporates as clients for `business to business products and services’.
