AMBALA, January 12: The State Bank of India’s computerised branch on Mall Road has extended banking hours up to 4 p.m. on weekdays and up to 1 p.m. On Saturdays with immediate effect.Inaugurating the new service, SBI chief manager Jagdish Kumar stressed the bank’s determination to serve its depositors and keep pace with the intensely competitive business environment.

As a token of SBI’s commitment to community service, the branch donated foodstuff and clothing to the home run by the Missionaries of Charity. 4 men caught watching pornographic movie

PANCHKULA, JAN 12 The temptation of viewing a pornographic movie saw four inhabitants of village Shyamtu in Panchkula district, land in the police custody here yesterday.According to the information received here, following a complaint, the district police arrested Jai Bhagwan, Subhash Chand, Gulshan Kumar and Mohinder while they were busy watching the movie. The four of them were watching the video near a tubewell located on the outskirts of the village.A case has been registered against them under Section 292 of the IPC.

Man dies by poisoning

Jaspal Singh, a resident of Dera Mohalla in Manimajra died after he reportedly consumed poison at his home this morning. Sources said that Singh was admitted to the PGI in a serious condition and died in the afternoon. The Manimajra police when contacted said they had no information of the incident.
