
The Supreme Court has held that revaluation of answer scripts is justified irrespective of the fact whether the examination malpractices were of a mass scale or not. “The principles applicable to mass malpractices are equally applicable to such cases where it is found that the variations even in test checks results in considerable change in the marks,” the Bench said while allowing an appeal filed by the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL). Twelve candidates had appeared in the inter-departmental promotion examinations held for the Assistant Accounts Officers of which four were given extra marks.
