CHANDIGARH, Nov 11: SD Public School, Sector 32 beat Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, 6-4 via tie break to lift title in under-19 boys group in the Chandigarh State Inter-School football tournament at Govt Model School in Sector 22, here today. Both the teams were 1-1 during the regulation period.In the tie-breaker, Pushpinder, Satinder, Ankur, Tejinder and Kuljeet converted for SD-32 while Rajbir, Joginder and Manwinder scored for SPS-41.Earlier, in the stipulated period, SD-32 players dominated the contest and shot into the lead in the ninth minute through Satinder but ten minutes later Rajbir converted a penalty shot for SPS-41 to level the score (1-1).After the change of ends, players of both the sides made attempts to gain the upper hand but fumbled near the goal mouth. Extra time was allotted to break the deadlock, during which no team could net the golden goal.Third place went to Sanjay Public School-44 who beat GMS-40 by 5-0. Harish Chander scored hat-trick for SPS-44. Subhash and Kularjit scored one each.Carrom tourneyThe second tri-angular carrom test series will be held at St Stephen's School in Sector 45 on November 13 and 14.
