CHENNAI, July 27: The second round of videographing of voters for identity cards proved unsuccessful owing to poor turnout of the remaining voters in the Mylapore constituency. While the authorities expected at least 40% of the voters to turn up, the turn out was less than 20%. However, during the first round, about 50% of the voters had turned up for being photographed. Election officials attribute this ‘sluggishness’ due to poor publicity and lack of awareness on the importance of the ID card.
