MOGA, Oct 12: Punjab Minister of State for Information and Public Relations Ujaggar Singh Sekhwana, also a member of the political affairs committee of Shiromani Akali Dal, has expressed full satisfaction with the outcome of meeting of BJP leaders with the Akali Dal leaders on October 7, at New Delhi, to discuss Udham Singh Nagar dispute.
Sekhwana, who was talking to mediapersons at Moga last evening, added that the setting up of a three-member committee, was a wise decision and was hopeful of a solution. Replying to a query the Minister said that he was confident that the committee will prepare its report in view of the sentiments of the people of Udham Singh Nagar who wanted to remain in Uttar Pradesh.
Referring to statements that the setting up of the panel by the Centre was nothing but a fraud, the Minister said that these leaders were misleading the people of Udham Singh Nagar. The information minister also denied the charge made by CPM leader Harkishen Singh Surjeet that Akali Dal was bargaining with the BJP for another berth in the Union Cabinet. The Minister was confident that the Vajpayee government would complete its full term in office.
