CHANDIGARH, Sept 19: Defending champion Western Air Command, Maintenance Command, Central Air Command and South Western Air Command made it to the semifinal stage of the ongoing Air Force hockey championship at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium. WAC in their last league encounter beat MC 5-4 in the sudden death. The teams were locked goalless after the regulation period and in the tie-break both the sides converted three goals each.

In another league match Training Command outplayed Eastern Air Command 5-1.

Neeraj Nain, Inderpal, Jagan Topna, Dinesh Pant and Amit Dubey scored one each for the winners while Soni Kumar shot one back for EAC.

Tennis meet
The Indian Schools team has reached Jakarta (Indonesia) for participation in the Asian Schools tennis tournament which will commence from September 23.
