PUNE, Sept 27: Around 75 students from various city colleges and institutions participated in a seminar on finance organised by the Department of Business Administration, Spicer Memorial College on Sunday. The seminar was sponsored by Rotary Club of Pune North.
Speaking on the occasion, Kenneth Swansi, coordinator of the seminar said liberalisation had opened intense competition in the market and that only those companies that manage their finances professionally would survive. “Such a situation provides the rational for a career in finance,” he added.
Rotarian J. Sridhar said the role of a company secretary had changed. “From a legal advisor on share management, the role of a CS now includes investor, consumer and environment protection,” he said. He also explained various career opportunities available for company secretaries, chartered accountants and law graduates.
