NEW DELHI, NOV 20: Shiv Sena, a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), today tried to put a spoke in Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's announcement of a unilateral ceasefire in Kashmir during the month of Ramzan by questioning the move. While BJP leaders were gloating over the impact of Vajpayee's decision on the international community, a number of Shiv Sena MPs today openly criticised his announcement seeking party chief Bal Thackeray's permission to raise the issue inside the Parliament.``Since the Prime Minister himself has made the announcement, we will wait for Balasaheb's instructions for further action,'' said Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Nirupam.Vajpayee's decision means that innocent people in the country have been left unprotected, said Sena's leader in Rajya Sabha Satish Pradhan. ``Militants have no religion. They should be killed whenever and wherever possible,'' he said.Sena's MP from Mumbai Mohan Rawle asked what would security forces do if militants enacted another Chattisinghpora or Kargil during Ramzan. ``Will they fire in the air since they have instructions not to fire at militants?'' he asked.Vajpayee has done what even Congress, ``known for appeasing Muslims'', did not do during past 50 years, Rawle said. Militants are known to give a call for jehad during the month of Ramzan only, Pradhan claimed.Earlier, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Syed Shahnawaz congratulated Vajpayee for his bold decision to declare ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir during Ramzan and urged the militants to respond positively. The ball is now in the militants' court and they must accept the offer to show their respect for the holy month, he said adding the Prime Minister's call was aimed at ending miseries of the people who live under the fear of gun.Meanwhile, leaders of the RSS-backed Jammu Kashmir Nationalist Front called on Home Minister L K Advani and BJP President Bangaru Laxman to demand trifurcation of J&K by granting statehood to Jammu and Union territory status for Ladakh. The delegation, led by former state BJP general secretary and Front convener Tilak Raj Sharma, also demanded creation of a separate security zone within Kashmir to settle the Kashmiri Pandit migrants, who had fled the valley in the wake of militancy, RSS sources said.
