The judicial custody of Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati, both in the Sankararaman murder case and Radhakrishnan assault case, was extended till January 6 today. But his bail plea in the assault case was adjourned to Monday by the Madras High Court. Using video-conferencing at Chengalpattu sessions court near Kancheepuram, First Class Judicial Magistrate (Kancheepuram) G. Uthamaraj extended the seer’s judicial custody in the murder case till January 6. Similarly, in the assault case, Metropolitan Magistrate (Saidapet) Uma Maheshwari extended the remand. -PTI
