CHANDIGARH, Dec 15: The Shatabdi Express was behind schedule by nearly two hours for the second consecutive day today. Its departure on the return leg was, however, behind schedule by about half an hour.
The train reached Chandigarh at 12.15 p.m. against its scheduled arrival time of 10.20 a.m. and departed at 1 p.m. against the scheduled timing of 12.20 p.m. The evening Shatabdi was supposed to come in at the revised time of 10 p.m. The Himalayan Queen also arrived about an hour-and-a-half late, which also delayed its departure. Against its scheduled arrival time of 10.10 a.m., it reached Chandigarh at 11.45 a.m. As regards the other trains which were delayed on account of some fault in the track, the Ambala Station Superintendent, Prem Prakash, said that the trains were all coming on the revised timings which were instituted on December 11.
"The timings have been revised until December 17. Trains are being permitted at the controlled speed of 60 km per hour. By next week, the trains would be running well as per the scheduled timing as the repair work is in full swing," he informed.
