MUMBAI, NOV 17: Mumbai off-spinner Aziz Sheikh’s five-wicket haul restricted Saurashtra’s surge in the West Zone under-19 Cooch-Behar league match at the Brabourne Stadium here today. Put into bat, Saurashtra were served well by 82-run opening stand between Prashant Joshi (69: 212b, 7×4) and Sandeep Dharajiya (56: 95b, 11×4). But Sheikh’s snatched the initiative and Saurashtra had to be content with 207 for eight on the board at close of the opening day’s play.
Mumbai, with 9 points in their kitty are desperately seeking an outright victory to make the knockout grade. Gujarat (21) has already qualified leaving, Maharashtra (13 points), Saurashtra (13), Mumbai and Vadodara (8) to slug it out for the remaining second spot.
