MUMBAI, JANUARY 27: Sampada Shetye of Joshi Bedekar and Sushant Niddodi of Mithibai college won the women and men singles titles in the Inter-Collegiate badminton tournament played at the University Pavilion.

Ruia and Syndenham colleges won the team championships in women and men category.

Results: Men’s Singles: Sushant Niddodi (Mithibai) bt Sanket Shetty (HR Commerce) 15-10, 18-15; Third place: Harshad Tawde (Syndenham) bt Kunal Vaswani (Sydenham) 15-9,15-9.

Men’s (Third Place): HR Commerce bt Mithibai 3-2 (Bezad Devadvala bt Sushant Niddedi 15-3,8-16,19-17; Prashant lost to Gautam Potdar 9-15 consider; Aftab and Prashant lost to Gautam and Sushant 8-15, 16-18; Sanket Shetty bt Kunal A, 15-3, 15-5, Sanket and Bezad bt Kunal and Shridhar 15-5 15-5. SHIBU, ARNIKA TO LEAD: Thane cager Shibu George and Satara’s junior international Arnika Gujar will lead the Maharashtra men’s and women’s teams in the 48th Senior National Basketball Championship to be held at Ludhiana from January 28 till February 4.
