Sajith, Manoj make Transasia day
Media Transasia scored a big win over Ajanta Press when they beat them by 126 runs in the Media Transasia League Cup. A partnership of 212 runs between Sajith Sevanandan (96) and Manoj Madhvan (92) was the highlight of the match. Batting first, Transasia piled up 256 in allotted 25 overs losing three wickets. Though Sajith and Manoj narrowly missed centuries, their partnership set the pace for the side’s victory. Chasing the total, Ajanta were bundled out for paltry 130 runs in 19.4 overs. In another match, Contract defeated Maadhyam by seven wickets. Maadhyam set a target of 117 runs for victory which Contract acheived in 18 overs.

The Delhi State Amateur Athletic Association will organise the 59th annual athletic championship at Nehru Stadium from February 1 to 3. The Delhi team for the National Games, to be held in Manipur, will be selected on the basis of performance in this championship, R Sunny Joshua, secretary, DSAAA, said. Events will be held in the following age categories: For both men and women: under-20, under-18 and under-16.

Dheeraj sparkles
Dheeraj Sharma, who struck 15 boundaries in his 95 and later claimed three wickets for 24 runs, helped Maurya beat Radisson by 42 runs in the Coca Cola inter-hotel tournament.

Brief Scores: Maurya: 180 for 9 in 30 overs (Dheeraj 95, Kailash Bhasuna 2 for 39) beat Radisson: 138 all out in 29.4 overs (B K Khanna 3 for 28, Sandeep 30).

Skating meet
Guru Harkrishan Public School (Tilak Nagar) will organise the fifth Chandu memorial skating meet on January 29 and 30. Competitions will be conducted by the Indian Roller Skating School.

Challenger Trophy
The inaugural East Colts Independence Challenger Trophy will be held on February 15 at DDA sports complex, opposite Nandnagari depot and Gagan Cinema. Interested teams should contact Neeraj jain, 187 B, J and K Dishad Garden (ph: 2124073) before February 10. The winners will get Rs 11,000 and runners-up Rs 7,100.

Gold Star triumphs
Karan Passi helped Gold Star Cricket Academy beat Maharaj Agarsen Public School (Ashok Vihar) by four wickets in the Maharaja Agarsen (u-14) tournament.

Keshav Puram Cricket Club beat Aram Nagar Cricket Club by four-wickets in the super league match of the President’s Estate Cup cricket tournament. Batting first, Aram Nagar made 224 losing eight wickets in the allotted 30 overs. Madhu, who made 63, was the highest scorer for them. In reply, Keshav Puram acheived the target of 225 runs in 28.3 overs losing six wickets.
