Vinay Singh’s four wickets for the loss of 16 runs and Siddharth’s brilliant 60 runs enabled St Stephen’s triumph over Hindu College by 19 runs in the Centenary Cup tournament organised by Hindu College.

W. Rly in quarters
Nitin Kirtane and Ravi Dhaya helped Western Railway beat Railway Board 2-0 to enter the quarter-final of the All-India Railway Tenis Championship. In other matches, KG Ramesh and T. Chandrasekaran guided Southern Railway to a 2-0 win over Railway Staff College while Dilip Kumar and Ram Kumar helped South Eastern Railway beat NT Railway 2-0. Northern Railway was the only side to have played the doubles as Hanuman Singh lost to R Balaji after Rajesh Vohra had taken the lead. Vohra paired up with Balram Singh to win the doubles.

TYCA League

Collage Group beat Gemini Cricket Club by four wickets in the Hari Singh Tyagi TYCA Cricket League. Batting first, Gemini were resrticted to 170 for nine wickets in 40 overs. Rajeev Uniyal was the highest scorer who remained not out for 50 while Mahesh Bhati and Sanjay Saini took three wickets each for winners. Collage made 171 for six with unbeaten knock of 50 by Sumit Sharma.Brief Scores: Gemini Cricket Club: 170/9 (Rajeev Uniyal 50 n.o., Gautam Gambhir 34, Naveen Asrani 27, Sandeep Kochar 25, Mahesh Bhati 3/26, Sanjay Saini 3/28) lost to Collage Group: 171/6 (Sumit Sharma 50, Satender Yadav 48, Manu Kumar 31, Siddharth Verma 3/25, Raja Sharma 2/25).

Victory for Rly Board
A fine all-round display by former Railway Ranji player Vinod Sharma helped Railway Board XI beat defending champions Armed Forces Headquarters by eight wickets in the Inter-Ministry Cricket Tournament. Vinod claimed four wickets and later scored unbeaten 34 runs to shape Railway Board’s win. In another match, Delhi Audit score nine-wicket victory over Ministry of Water Resource.

Collage in BDM final
Sanjay Verma’s all-round show (67 not out in 71 balls, 2 for 32) helped Collage Group beat Chand Khanna by eight wickets to enter the final of BDM Challenge Cup. In the final, Collage meet ONGC.

Railways retain title
Ministry of Railways retained the team championship beating Surface Transport Ministry in the final of inter-ministry tennis tourny.

Le Meridian win
An unbeaten knock of 64 by Arvinder helped Le Meridian thrash Imperial by 26 runs in the Coca-Cola inter-hotel tournament at Jamia Mollia College.
