Brijesh Roy, Jaspal Singh run through FCI
Off-spinners Brijesh Roy (5 for 26) and Jaspal Singh (3 for 33) helped Sahara Airlines dismiss Food Corporation of India for 145 to begin their Pool D league match of Lala Raghubir Memorial Hot Weather Tournament at Modern School on a winning note here on Thursday. Sahara Airlines won by 92 runs.

Put in to bat, Sahara Airlines made 237 for six, thanks to a 75-ball innings of 67 by opener Sunil Sharma and his 103-run stand for the second wicket with Deepak Bhatnagar (40). FCI, who were 103 for three in the 24th over, lost the remaining seven wickets at the cost of 42 runs in five overs.

Amit Sharma wins title
Amit Sharma bounced back to defeat Sandeep Betala 2-0, 2-0 in the final of the 8th Vertex Wednesday Night Pool Tournament. Sandeep had defeated Amit in an earlier round match.Rajiv Arora defeated Ashish Khanna but lost to Amit Sharma to finish third. Rajiv Arora finished fourth.

The first Vertex Inter Corporate Tournament for the games of pool and Darts will be held at the Vetex Sports cafe on May 30 from 6 p.m onwards.

Victory in quarter-final
Victory Club entered the quarter-final of the 14th Laxman Dass Memorial Cricket Tournament the easy way as their opponents Shivam Airways failed to report at the University Polo ground. Victory club were thus awarded a walk-over.

Subhania triumph

Air Force enter final
Air Force, Palam (144 for 9: MangeshMahar 39, Harish Bhaskar 30, Raja Sharma 4 for 32, Pankaj Joshi 2 for 23) beat Municipal Corporation of Delhi (143: Pankaj Malik 69, Devender 24, V.P.Singh 3 for 15, Mohan 2 for 18) by one wicket in the semi-final of the Nehru Memorial Cricket Tournament.

Big win for Madras Club n Madras Club (270 for 7 in 30 overs: Kamal Chopra 80, Ajit Chaudhry 46, Rajendra Singh 35, Dhan Raj 35, Kundan Mehra 2 for 46, Rajul Sood 2 for 69) beat S.P. xi: 204 in 28.1 overs (N.P.Singh 85, Mradul Gupta 50, Kartar Nath 4 for 36, Vikas Vij 2 for 27) by 66 runs in the 2nd Lala Hari Ram Aggarwal Memorial Cricket Tournament.

Audit win carrom final
Delhi Audit trounced Health 3-0 in the carrom final of the Inter Ministry men’s team championship. Mohd Nasir beat G.D.Bajaj 25-0, 25-2; Jaipraksh beat S.V.Yenurkar 25-3, 25-5 and Vinod Dashmansh beat Virender Singh 6-25, 11-9 (conceded).

North India martial art
The second North India Invitational Martial Art Championshi will be held on May 30 and 31 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium. Over 1,000 players of karate and taekwondo from eight states are expected to participate.

54 boys invited for camp
Fifty four boys in the under 16 category have been called for a summer coaching camp to be conducted by the Delhi & District Association at the Kotla ground from June 1. The camp will be held from 7 a.m to 10.30 a.m.
