Four-member CBSE table tennis team for DubaiThe table tennis boys team selected by CBSE from amongst its school in India will leave for a goodwill tour to Dubai on September 18 to play friendlies against CBSE affiliated schools in Gulf. Earlier, Bal Bhavan trounced Sarvodya Kanya Vidyalaya (West Vinod Nagar) 10-6 in the semi-final.FIG sports festivalThe Federation of Indian Games organised a week-long sports festival in the memory of late hockey wizard Dhyan Chand, recently, where about 400 students from 41 schools participated. The events were held in hockey, football, kho-kho, basketball and volleyball. Experimenting with the format of the field events, the FIG organised football and hockey events on a six-a-side pattern. According to its secretary SK Choudhry, the FIG plans to add other events like taekwon-do, kabaddi, judo and wrestling in the coming meets.This year's winners will be awarded in a function on October 1 at Pyarelal Bhawan.
