A fine spell of bowling by Nisar Ansari (4 for 18) and useful knock of 45 runs by Pradeep Shastri helped Rex Remedies XI beat Rainbow Cricket Club by 67 runs in a friendly match at Yamuna Vihar. Batting first, Rex Remedies made 150 runs losing six wickets in alloted 25 overs and later dismissed Rainbow CC to mere 83 runs in 18.2 overs.

First Jawahar Singh Lohia Memorial Cricket tournament will be held from October 10 at Central School Ground. The winners will get Rs 7,500 while runners-up will get Rs 4,100 besides awards for best bastman, best bowler, best-all-rounder and man of the tournament. Umesh chief judo coach
Umesh Kumar Singh, the chief coach of Uttar Pradseh Police judo team, has been selected as the coach of Indian judo team which will participate in international judo championship to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 22 to 27. According to Ranveer Singh, the Sports Officer of UP Police, Indian Judo Federation has chosen him for this assignment. Working in Uttar Pradesh Intelligence Department, he had been the coach of UP Police judo team for the last twelve years.

Father Peter football
Fifth Father Peter Mermier Memorial Invitational Football Tournament for schools will begin from September 20 with inuagural match between St Francis School (A) and Ramjas Public School (Anand Parbat) at St Francis De Sales School, Janakpuri. The competition will be conducted in junior section which will be played on league-cum-knock-out basis. Mount St Mary’s, Holy Cross, Delhi Public School (RKP & Vasant Kunj), Sahoday School, CRPF School (Rohini), Modern School (Barakhamba Rd), St John’s Khera Kurd and Don Bosco are among the participating teams.

Institute of Integerated Learning and Management (IILM), Lodhi Road, beat Vijay Mehra Academy by 60 overs in a friendly match.

Cambridge Foundation (Rajouri Garden) defeated St Marks School (Meera Bagh) by 127 runs in the Radha Kishan Memorial Cricket Tournament.
