Adarsh Seva Vidayalaya, Varanasi, entered the sub-junior final of the Subroto Mukherjee Cup defeating Mount Carmel School, Mizoram 4-1 in penalty shootout. Both sides were locked 1-1 at the end of the regulation time. Lalhmuchhuaka (35th) gave Mizoram lead which was equalised by Varanasi’s Mohit Chaurasia in the dying minutes. In penalty shootout, Mohit, Ripender Kant Singh, Subhan Ali and Jitender Kumar found the target while for Mizoram Vanlalmawia was the only scorer.

Bhiwani retain title
Bhiwani beat Hissar by nine wickets to win the Pataudi Trophy inter-district cricket tournament (Haryana state) for the second year running, in the final played at Nehru Stadium, Gurgaon.
Brief scores: Hissar: 78 all out in 35.5 overs (Vaibhav Chauhan 22, Pawan Sharma 2 for 10, Sandeep More 2 for 14, Sanjay Dalal 2 for 10) lost to Bhiwani: 81 for 1 in 17.4 overs (Jasbir 37, Sanjay Balwan 37, Sanjeev Goel 1 for 22) by nine wickets.

Mothers School wins
The Mothers International School won the senior boys basketball south zone s-23 championship beating Manav Bharti School 44-18. Mukund, Abhinav and Arjun were the main scorers for the winners.

Easy for Vardhman
Vardhman Shiksha Mandir (Darya Ganj) won the zone-27 volleyball championship trouncing Happy School (Darya Ganj) 25-19, 25-14, 25-22 in the senior boys section. Skipper Anuj Gupta and Vivek excelled for the winning team.

Jaswinder excels
Jaswinder Singh Makan’s all-round display (29 and 4 for 31) helped Maharaja Agarsen Academy down Ashirwad Club by 16 runs in the league match of Shaheed Smriti tournament for Kargil Cup at Rani Bagh ground.

St Francis enters final
St Francis De Sales School `A’ moved into final beating Modern School (Barakhamba Road) 2-1 in semi-final of the Fr Peter Mermier Memorial Invitational football tournament. Aditya scored for the Modern School while Nitiant Solanki equalised for St Francis School. In the extra-time, Rohit Sikka netted the winner. St John’s School (Khera Khurd) outwitted DPS (RK Puram) 1-0 during extra time to enter the final. Ashok Remy scored the winner.

Parminder impressive
Fine all-round display by Parminder Singh (37 and 3 for 27) and a good knock by Gaurav Malik (69) guided Shanti Gyan Niketan (Goyala) to a 11-run victory over St Marks (Meera Bagh) in the Radha Kishan memorial tournament at Cambridge Foundation School ground.
Brief scores: Shanti Gyan Niketan: 194 for 9 in 30 overs (Gaurav Malik 69, Parminder Singh 37) bt St Marks: 183 for 9 in 30 overs (Saswant Duggal 48, Sikhar Dhawan 47, Parminder Singh 3/27, Ashwani Arora 2/38).
