Short Corner — Gokuldham Club to hold Rapid Chess tournament

MUMBAI, December 2: Gokuldham Chess Club will be conducting a Rapid Chess tournament on Sunday, December 14 from 9.00 a.m. onwards at the St Pius College Compound, Aarey Road. The event will have two categories; under-12 and under-18.

Entries can be given at Monginis Shop, near Goregaon (E) Railway station (Tel: 874 1511) or to S Majumdar, 604 Chandrasagar, Gokuldham (Tel: 840 7014). The last date for recieving entries is Sunday, December 7 (6.00 p.m.).

Star players for Pradhan benefit

Some of the leading Test players from the Indian cricket team including Sachin Tendulkar, Mohd Azharuddin and Ajay Jadeja will take part in the Lifebuoy Cup match on January 4, 1998 at the Nehru Stadium, Pune. The match is being played for the benefit of former Maharashtra Ranji player, Prasad Pradhan.
