Gokuldham Chess Club will be conducting an open Rapid tournament on July 20 at Nirmala Niketan Auditorium, St. Pius College Compound, Aarey Road, Goregaon (E). Entries will be accepted at Monginis Shop, Goregaon (E), Close to Goregaon Station (8741511) and by S Majumdar, 604, Chandrasagar, Gokuldham (8403135) between 7.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. Last date for receiving entries is July 15.

State selection chess tourney

The Maharashtra State Selection Chess Tournament would be held at Andheri Sports Complex from July 10. The 9-round Swiss League tourney is the criteria to select the state team for the National `B’ championship. The last date to send in the entry is July 8.

Vanita Samaj badminton

The Vanita Samaj Open Badminton tournament will be held from July 21-26 at Dadar. The events are men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles, mixed doubles, and, sub-junior and midgets boys and girls singles. Entry forms are available at the Samaj office, Veer Savarkar marg, Shivaji Park, between 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
