Ram Gopal Varma seems to be planning yet another film. He has been meeting Sunil Shetty lately. And in all probability Urmila will be the heroine of the new project. But Border has really done for Sunil what it couldn’t do for the other heroes in the film. Perhaps this is because Sunil likes to make the most of his film’s success and kept a really high profile after Border‘s release.

Now on, now off

There has been so much speculation on this one. Yes, the Sunny Deol-Raveena Tandon-Akshay Kumar triangle. While some said she had been dumped by Sunny there was also news that she had dumped Akshay. Then came the revelations about a secret marriage between Raveena and Akshay. The drama just went on and on to a point where people thought things were over for good between the lovebirds. But Akki and Raveena are reportedly back. It all started (again) on the sets of Keemat. They are also shooting for Vidroh and Barood together and this means they will have lots of time to sort out their differences.

Starry airs

Just because Sridevi is about to give up films doesn’t mean that she has given up her filmi tantrums. Like recently a designer store at Bhulabhai Desai Road which claims to sell all stuff Italian, went out of their way to please Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. The couple decided to go shopping, at about 11 in the night and the shop was opened specially for them. Their driver was ever so attentive and wouldn’t let any of the people coming out of a pub close by even lean against the car, saying it is Boneysaab’s car. Now you know what I meant about Sri not giving up her starry ways. While the Boney Kapoor-Sridevi subject I just loved Shobha De’s column recently where she refused to call Boney Sri’s husband. Can the couple be upset? No way, for our popular columnist was merely stating hard facts.

Eclipsed

They raved on and on about Anupama Verma in Grahan. As a matter of fact, Jackie Shroff is still all praise for her but this isn’t exactly showing in the film’s publicity campaign. One hardly sees Anupama. But that is because Manisha Koirala is a bigger and more popular star. However, the way Shroff had been talking about the `boom boom’ girl, one thought she had lots to do in the film.

Shashilal Nair, the Grahan director, is excited as hell about this film. Just stay away from him till the film’s release, unless of course you want to get involved in some very complicated conversation. Meet him and he will start telling you the storyline of Grahan. He talks about some dark force and third-factor eclipse blah blah blah. Do we really care about what the film is called? No, not as long as it is a good film.

Shooting Stars

Often stardom and arrogance go together. As success begins to betray them, the stars often also lose their airs. Let’s look at some of the most arrogant stars of their time.

* Amitabh Bachchan may not admit this but people who dealt with him in his hey days will tell you about his condescending attitude. When the superstar was shooting in Ooty and he didn’t want to use ordinary water, all the star wanted was mineral water. Nothing wrong with this but the Big B wanted the mineral water not just to drink but to bathe in as well!

* His successor Anil Kapoor was no less. He too was known to be extremely rude and brash, this guy didn’t even spare his fans.

* The Choron Ki Rani too thought that tantrums were the best ways to flaunt her stardom. Sridevi even kept someone like Vinod Mehra waiting on the road under the hot sun while she sat for two hours in her air-conditioned van.

* Madhuri was pretty much the same. She kept her mentor Subhash Ghai waiting for so long that he went and signed Mahima for Pardes.

* Salman Khan, as you already know, has more attitude than talent. He tried to ban press photographers. Nobody was allowed to click this violent star. Later when he needed them, they boycotted him.
