When they get successful they usually prefer to be alone. It’s tough for some people to share their good times. Look at Chandrachur Singh. Things went wrong between him and his girl friend once success knocked on his door.
But he is not alone. Almost every second celebrity in tinseltown has a similar story to tell. That is why we will not react to the news of Raageshwari breaking up with Sanjay Narang. The two appeared absolutely in love and the actress even gave interviews to this effect recently to a film magazine. But now we hear it’s all over. Well, what can we say except that these things happen here all the time.
Ladies man
Remember Anjala Zaveri? Yeah, the same girl who made her debut with Himalayputra. Remember, she made sure that we all knew that she got a raw deal in the film? Of course, we believed her, for this happens to most newcomers. Her career may not be in the best of shape but her private life isn’t that boring. I saw her at Hemal Thakker’s private discotheque a few nights ago. And even before anyone could utter her name, she was gone. Not alone though. The host disappeared with her. This guy does have a weakness for filmi upstarts — Raveena, Deepti, Manisha, Neelam, phew! The list of his involvements go on and on.
Two to party
If you can’t afford to have a party all by yourself or perhaps can’t manage a decent crowd on your own, just share half your party. That’s exactly what Alvira, Atul Agnihotri’s wife, did. You did know she is also Salman Khan’s sister? She had a birthday bash but decided to share her list of invitees and the expenses with a friend. So the next time you feel broke just have a party — sometimes good friends make life easier.
Damp squib
Why does this happen so often? A film gets launched with pomp and splendour and then things go wrong. It happened to Pahlaj Nihalani’s Indian, starring Aishwarya Rai and Sunny Deol, and apparently it’s happening to Firoze Nadiadwala’s, Raftar as well. Steven Segal had attended this mahurat at a five star hotel and there was a lot of hype and publicity. Now, the latest rumour is that Sanjay Dutt, the hero, is no longer doing the film. And the official reason? Obviously the most predictable excuse date problems. Sunil Shetty is being pencilled in for role. Watch this space for further developments on this front.
Perfect ten
After a whole lot of names that were considered to complete Dus, Mukul Anand’s unfinished project, it’s Ramesh Sippy who has been chosen to finish the film. Priyadarshan, David Dhawan and many others backed out but Sippy has finally decided to give this stranded project a helping hand.
Bad joke
We knew that Raza Murad was also doing television but I was surprised to read that he had shifted to New Jersey where he was working for a computer firm. This news however was a bigger surprise to the actor himself. He promptly issued denials saying that he is still acting. The actor also went on to explain that someone was trying to sabotage his career. Yeah, maybe it’s an Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh who got insecure. Get the joke?
