Show BUZZ — No sensation

The logic in Bollywood is simple. When the going gets tough, everyone acts tough. Sushmita is at the receiving end of all the wrong things presently. Like her next release Zor. The publicity for the film has already begun but there is no sign of Sush in the promos. There is an explanation: Sen is meant to appear in the second round of the campaign. Apparently, she plays a comic role in the film, parallel to Laxmikant Berde. So, in other words, Sunny Deol who is the hero and the saleable factor of this film as well, is the one who has the zordar role.

Wrong choice
Raveena Tandon, my dears, is paying the price for her little scene with Sunny Deol. She may have been recommended for a film or two but she also saw herself being booted out of them, the moment the two drifted apart. Now, the latest is that Raveena is being sidelined in Salaakhein, as well. This film stars Sunny Deol as the hero opposite her and Manisha Koirala (who was to do a guest role). Apparently, now Manisha has managed to get a song to herself, which incidentally, was believed to be Raveena’s share of the role. Well, there is not much Raveena can do. To begin with, Sunny is a star and can afford to dictate terms with his director and in this case, Guddu Dhanoa, the maker of Salaakhein, is also his cousin.

Too much talk
There was so much noise about Amitabh Bachchan’s wife, Jaya, and Shah Rukh doing a film together. The producer Manoj Desai had sounded equally excited about the project. But right now he is busy issuing denials. Apparently Abhishek was also to be launched. But the news upset the Bachchans and now poor Desai is saying that Abhishek had never been slated to do a role in this project.

Star signs
There is no dearth of fresh faces yet there is a lack of quality actresses. So the star sons waiting to be launched — Jeetendra’s son Tushar, Rakesh Roshan’s son Hrithik, Abhishek Bachchan and Rahul Khanna — all of whose debut is next year, are looking towards Kareena Kapoor. This also might explain all the dinner meetings that Randhir Kapoor and the Big B have been having. Or is there something else that we don’t know?

Lady luck
There was talk of Arshad Warsi doing Sooraj Barjatya’s next project — Hum Saath Saath Hain — along with Salman Khan. But eventually, it was Saif Ali Khan who got lucky. Yes, he is the other hero in the film. Meanwhile, did you know that he sacked his secretary and has a brand new one. It’s none other than biwi Amrita who is managing his dates. And we mean film dates. So this may just bring an end to his down-and-out phase. Should we say that Amrita has brought him his stroke of good luck?
