Madam X loves all the rumours that are floating about these days. Often she herself is the source of the gossip. She gives very clever, though indirect, statements from time to time suggesting that she is still in love with Him and He with her. And she is deriving great pleasure from the reports of their coming together. Her face is radiant even minus the pancake make-up she plasters on to hide her dusky complexion. And she has dropped her Greta Garbo recluse act and is clawing her way back into the limelight. The same lady who didn’t step out of her house after her mard deserted her, is seen everywhere — with the smile of a Cheshire cat. She stunned everyone when she walked in for the Betaabi party. No one expected her to turn up for a filmi function.

But Madam X should be careful or someone rather The One and only, may wipe that smile off her face. It is said that first her lover was waiting for his daughter to get married. Now, apparently he will wait till he is a grandfather before he walks out on his wife. Then, maybe he will wait till his grandchild gets married!

Salt free

EVEN if you are born with good skin you really have to take care of it. Ask Dimple Kapadia. The actress perhaps has the best complexion one can ask for. But Kapadia does not take it for granted and works at maintaining it. As a friend of hers recently discovered after having lunch at Kapadia’s place. She is on a totally saltless diet. The reason: well salt, according to Dimple, is bad for the skin. But it’s not as if the actress is suffering. According to her lunch date, her saltless, bland food is more delicious than the regular spicy food eaten in most homes. Maybe, the actress could give us a few tips on the art of salt-free cooking.

Only last week they were shooting at Filmistan Studio — the same shift — for different movies, though. However, the two former lovers made it a point not to bump into each other. Well, either Pooja is really madly in love with Armaan Kohli or Akshay, at this point, couldn’t care less about women, not even Raveena. He is dead serious about his career which is going through a low phase.

Shazia Mallick made headlines last month. She had a fight with another girl over Andy Balraj. We aren’t going to waste time telling you who he is. But the truth comes out now. Apparently, it was not Andy that the Himalayputre was fighting about. Shazia, the rumour mills reveal, is crazy about a guy called Faiz and this other girl was flirting with him.

Puppy love

Who says little boys don’t fall in love? Just ask Dinesh Raheja, the editor of Movie. He would beg to differ. Raheja has conceptualised Just Mohabbat, a tele-serial, about a 10-year-old boy and his first love / crush. Predictably, as is the case with most young men, the object of his adoration is his teacher. Dinesh says he found inspiration for this serial from his childhood. Best known for his witty writing, Raheja is now working on a hilarious comedy serial called Beauty Parlour for Anand Mahendroo.

Busy bee

If you thought Abhishek Bachchan was busy studying abroad, think again. Either he has graduated or aborted his plans of completing his course. For Bachchan Jr is seen at all the filmi parties and mahurats. And is taking an active interest in showbizz. It is believed that he was actively involved with the publicity of Mrityudaata as well. Apparently the Big B didn’t like the publicity hoardings so Abhishek stepped in and redesigned them. Then of course he made news thanks to his alleged link-up with Karisma Kapoor. And for the past few weeks he has everybody guessing again. What with all these rumours about him making his debut as hero. First, he was supposed to be doing a film directed by Aditya Chopra of Dilwale Dulhaniya… fame, cast opposite Karisma’s sister, Kareena. Now, it is being said that Shekhar Kapur (who met Amitabh in London), will be directing the young scion. But the Big B should watch out. Kapur has his own time machine and Abhishek may be pot-bellied and greying by the time Kapur makes this film.
