MUMBAI, July 20: Pesi Shroff broke the jinx when he steered Salute Her to a brilliant win in the 2800 metres Castrol St Leger, the last classic of the Bangalore Summer Season, in a record time, on Sunday.

Pesi had not won a single classic after having been suspended at Chennai for “dangerous riding” on Sea Gazer who had won the South India 1000 Guineas last December.
