Narol Circle on National Highway 8 witnessed its most horrible day on Saturday when twin blasts occurred at around 6:15 within minutes of each other, leaving six persons injured, one of them seriously.

The blasts occurred on either side of the road that leads to Vishala Circle.

The injured included a six-year-old boy. While the first blast happened near a temple just on the edge of the road, the other blast occurred outside Mittal Chambers, just across the first blast site. A bicycle used in the blast lay covered.

“The impact of the blast was so intense that it shook my shop, and I did not venture near the site on the other side of the road,” said Mehmoodbhai Pathan, a shop owner.

Within minutes of the blast, the area wore a deserted look as shopowners immediately downed shutters. Manohar, a local, said he had gone to have coffee near the Hanuman temple and parked his bike when all of a sudden he heard the blast, which left him with a minor injury in the head.

Naveenbhai Kantilal Bharvad, a resident of Vadaj area who was also injured, said he had come to drop his friend. “My friend Sureshbhai lives near Isanpur, and I had come to drop him here. He suffered serious injuries in the abdomen and hand,” he said.
