THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB 14: The attempts by the Sangh Parivar to enlist the support of SNDP Yogam to its anti-conversion drive, have received a setback with Yogam president A S Pratap Singh coming down heavily on the Hindutva forces for seeking to politicise the issue.

In a statement issued on Friday, Pratap Singh termed the BJP a chaturvarnya party’ and said religious fundamentalism and conversion were two sides of the same coin. He said SNDP Yogam would not support either the Christian establishment that attempts conversion on a large scale, or the Hindutva forces which exploit the issue for political gains.

Further elucidating his point, Pratap Singh told The Indian Express today that the Yogam does not approve of conversion by brandishing enticements and misusing foreign funds. At the same time, it wants those who are spearheading the anti-conversion drive to look into the reasons behind the conversion and come out with solutions.
