CHANDIGARH, MARCH 18: The Action Committee of the Cooperative House Building Societies has reiterated its request to the Chandigarh Administration to allot land to eligible cooperative house building societies as soon as possible.
A delegation of the presidents and secretaries of various cooperative house building societies, which met Adviser to UT Administrator Jagdish Sagar under the chairmanship of Action Committee president A. P. Sanwaria, sought issuance of allotment letters to members of eligible cooperative house building societies by April.
The delegation members suggested an “emergency clause” while acquiring land for societies to enable early acquisition. They urged the administration not to adopt a “pick-and-choose” policy while allotting land. The Adviser told the delegation that the matter would be discussed with UT officials at a meeting which would be convened soon.
